US consulate warns citizens of ‘heightened threat’ in Quetta

The United States has advised its citizens to remain vigilant and avoid traveling to Quetta due to a “heightened threat in and around the city.” “The Consulate General wishes to advise US citizens about a heightened threat level in the near term affecting Pakistani government and military installations, hotels, and western interests in and around the city of Quetta,” said a statement posted on the website of the US embassy in Islamabad on Thursday.
